MOSCOT has been making glasses in New York for more than a century, and some of its frames have barely changed in decades because they never needed to. Bold acetate, keyhole bridges and real hardware, fitted at Out to See with ZEISS lenses cut in our Kailua lab.
From an Orchard Street pushcart
In 1915, Hyman Moscot started selling eyeglasses from a pushcart on Orchard Street on Manhattan's Lower East Side. That pushcart became a shop, the shop became an institution, and the business has stayed in the Moscot family ever since.
Today the fifth generation leads the company, still designing frames with the same New York attitude.

A MOSCOT frame is timeless. The lenses inside it shouldn't be. We fill every pair with ZEISS lenses measured and cut by our lens maker, Cory, in our lab here in Kailua.
Thicker acetate frames also give us more options for stronger prescriptions, and we'll show you which lens keeps the edges thin.

What size Lemtosh should I get?
It depends on your face width and prescription. The fastest way to know is to try two sizes side by side, which is exactly what our boutique is for.
Can MOSCOT sunglasses be made in my prescription?
Yes. We fit them with ZEISS sun lenses, polarized if you like.
Are MOSCOT frames good for strong prescriptions?
Their thicker acetate rims hide lens edges well. Pair them with high index ZEISS lenses and they stay light and slim.
Do I need an eye exam first?
Bring a current prescription, or book a full hour eye exam with Dr. Mordue and choose your frames the same visit.
