Out to See Kailua, how it all started
Tampa, FL
Dr. Lauren Mordue began her career in optometry working with Dr. William Billig and Dr. Debra Dahlberg at Optics Soho back in 2004. Dr. Debra Dahlberg was the optometrist Lauren saw for the first time that inspired her career. She learned from two of the best in Florida on how to provide excellent eye care.
New York City, NY
Dr. Lauren Mordue left her home of Tampa, Florida in pursuit of becoming a doctor of optometry. She moved to the Upper East Side in New York City. She worked with top Ophthalmologists at “The LASIK Center,” in midtown Manhattan and helped many patients achieve their dream of becoming glasses-free.
Boston, MA
Dr. Lauren Mordue attended New England College of Optometry located in Boston, Massachusetts. She spent a year working externships with offices in Boston, New Jersey, Florida, and Kaneohe Bay Marine Base, before permanently moving to Hawaii. Dr. Mordue then spent 5 years working in Lenscrafters in Honolulu and Aiea before opening her own optometry eyewear boutique in Kailua, Oahu Hawaii.
Oahu, HI
Dr. Lauren Mordue lives in Kailua, Oahu Hawaii with her husband, Brian and their two boys Ethan and Luke. Brian is a retired NYPD detective, and professional photographer and filmmaker. Ethan is a wildly active 5 year old that loves cliff jumping, surfing, watching movies, and running super fast with boosters. Luke is a thoughtful and clever 3-year-old who loves superheroes and epic battles. He’s a little quieter than his brother, but always mindful and calculated in everything he does. Sweet at heart (with just the right touch of mischief).
Out to See opened its doors in March of 2023. Our goal is to deliver exceptional care and high-quality eyewear. Being part of the community is just as important to us as caring for your eyes. We love creating opportunities to connect with families and neighbors, whether it’s sponsoring Santa and offering free holiday photos, marching in the Fourth of July parade, or taking part in local Sip & Shop events and Halloween trick-or-treat traditions. Supporting the community that supports us is at the heart of who we are.
